Bush administration again puts the screws to the EPA–and why are we surprised?
I am shocked, shocked to find that meddling is going on here.
A Senate committee today narrowly voted to overturn the EPA’s decision blocking California and more than a dozen other states (Arizona, Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Mexico, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Rhode Island and Washington–hmm, what happened to New Hampshire?) from limiting greenhouse gas […]

Gas-tax holidays, lapel pins, and other elitist ideas
With the price of gasoline approaching $4 per gallon, and the price of diesel already exceeding that level, many are asking what the Congress, and our Presidential candidates, will do to reduce gas prices.
Exactly the wrong question.
There is very little the Congress, the President, or the government in general can do to influence the price […]

Are you voting only to be a winner?
This New York Times article notes that energy issues–price, availability, conservation and alternative energy sources–are a top concern for many New Hampshire voters (including me, of course). The Times even goes so far as to point out the favorable opinion that many voters have of my favorite candidate:
Many here, including Mr. Wells, spoke admiringly of […]

It’s Sunday morning, what are they waiting for?
A media study conducted by the League of Conservation Voters shows that the Sunday morning talk show hosts have given the presidential candidates a free ride when it comes to the issue of global warming.
According to this study, the Sunday morning hosts (Tim Russert, Bob Schieffer, George Stephanopoulos, Wolf Blitzer and Chris Wallace) have asked […]

Another reason to vote for Richardson
I’ll admit that I’m straying off topic here, but here’s another reason why I’m voting for Bill Richardson in the New Hampshire Primary. From the Boston Globe, Richardson’s answers to a questionnaire on the limits of presidential power. See also this summary of all the candidates’ responses, at the Huffington Post.
